Hypertension Has Many Causes

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Today, I beg you to let go of prejudgments and propaganda produced by the traditional health business and apply your common sense. That’s the one thing that never lies.

Why do I ask you to do that?

The answer is simple. If you read any official health site, what’s the first and main point they try to pressure?

Their task is to brain wash you that the only possible approach to lower hypertension is to use prescription medications. They may quickly  mention other things you can do in combination with drugs. But the main focus is on medications.

And like it wasn’t enough to be put on medication. They also claim, you’ll have to be on these medication ( and suffer all the side effects)  for the rest of your life.

The High Blood Pressure Numbers Explained

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Have you ever wondered the meaning of those two numbers in your blood pressure?  Medical doctors often make such a big deal out of how high or low those numbers are, while we ourselves can’t understand what they mean.

Actually, these numbers tell you how hard your blood is pushing against the walls of your arteries. Just as how water building up in a hose can damage it, your own blood can also damage your arteries and leave you more susceptible to strokes and cardiac arrest.

A blood pressure reading can look like this: 120/80 mmHg. The first number represents the systolic blood pressure, which is the pressure your blood exerts on your arteries when your heart beats. The second number represents the diastolic blood pressure, which is your blood pressure when your heart rests between beats. (more…)

10 Simple Ways To Develop Hypertension

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

While hypertension cannot be pinpointed to any one reason (or so the doctors say), a few lifestyle habits have been found to increase your blood pressure.  In the tradition of making Here’s my own list of Top Ten Reasons for Hypertension.

10.) Being stressed.  Too much work can give you unnecessary stress that stays with you even after you leave the office.  Stress has been proven to cause several sicknesses, one of which is hypertension.

What you can do is pace your work throughout the day, doing the harder tasks earlier on in the day.

9.) Worrying too much. Anxiety has also been found to cause spikes in blood pressure. Some experts claim that making worrying a habit can cause as much damage as chronic hypertension.

Things that you can do to relax include meditation, yoga, and massage.

8.) Eating the wrong things.  Eating unhealthy food, whether you’re overweight or not, and whether you exercise or not, can increase your blood pressure.

Unhealthy food includes cholesterol, trans fat, and salt.  The new food guide pyramid can start you off to eating right, and putting your blood pressure back on track.

7.) Lack of exercise.  We spend most of the day sitting down, at work, school, or at home.  This can lead to obesity, and obesity can lead to hypertension. (more…)

Tried Everything To Lower Your Blood Pressure?

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

Over and over again I receive emails from people who have tried everything to lower their - up to 210/140 high -  blood pressure. They’ve been on medications for years and take every supplements known to man.

These people often tells me that their father, mother, grandparents and their aunts, uncles, did suffer from soaring blood pressure. So, it might be in their genes, correct?

Most often, their question is pretty much the same…

“Could this program help me in such a bad situation?”

Since this question is so common, I decided to explain this right here on this blog.

You see, hypertension is of course partly caused by genetic factors or wrong bad modern days diet. But that is only a small part of the problem. Emotions and thinking patterns plays much bigger part. (more…)

How To Develop Heart Attack in 10 Steps

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

While there are a number of different factors that lead to heart attacks, many of which that are still largely unknown, there are a number of well known lifestyle factors that can lead to this event. Here is my very own list of the Top Ten Ways to Have a Heart Attack.

10. Smoking . Smoking is really very harmful for our cardiovascular system and especially for our heart. Smoking is known to clog the arteries and raise the blood pressure. There is twice the risk for a heart attack for a person compared to a person who does not smoke.

9. Excessive drinking. Taking one drink per day which amounts to about twelve ounces of beer, five of wine or 1.5 of hard liquor actually does have a protective affect on your heart, but consuming more or even less is simply not effective. So, if you are consuming  too much than you might be putting your heart in serious risk because alcohol does raises the blood pressure and has other negative affects on to your body.

8. Eating vegetable. In order to reduce stress and cholesterol level or heal your body from issues with blood pressure or excess weight you do require to exercise regularly. To remain inactive by not doing exercise is a very good way to increase the chances for a heart attack. (more…)

The Third Cause Of Hypertension

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

There are three main causes for hypertension…

- genetic reasons

- dietary causes

- reasons relating to emotional tension and stress

The third reason, emotional tension, is the most harmful.

Genetic Reasons:

These factors play an important role in the cause of primary hypertension.

Those in the medical community have yet to accurately say which genes are the major reason for the development of hypertension.

The unique characteristics of each one of us are determined by our genes and chromosome’s production of proteins.

The research that has been conducted in this field already has been primarily focused on factors affecting the renin-angiotensin-andosterone system which is responsible for helping the body regulate its blood pressure, primarily by controlling the balance of salt, and the state of elasticity within the arteries.

Is Hypertension Normal?

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

An increasing number of people have been suffering the effects of hypertension in the last thirty years.

The rise in issues relating to high blood pressure cannot be attributed to genes, because our genes have not changed at all.

Another culprit being blamed for the rise in hypertension is our change in diet.  Unfortunately, this is not the entire reason either.

People fifty to one hundred years ago have been eating more fatty food, but hypertension cases then were not nearly this much. (more…)

Sadly, different studies have shown that almost half of Americans today are overweight.  And this statistic is not just limited to the adults.  Almost 14% of Children now are overweight, compared to 5% only a few decades ago.

Experts have agreed that this is so because people nowadays are exercising less than before.  Also, the wrong kinds of food are finding their way into the kitchens of american families who are becoming more affluent.
